Rudy Joins church

Famous Notre Dame football walk on  Daniel E. "Rudy" Ruettiger  was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints  on Saturday Jan. 21 by Highland resident  Randy "Rudy"  Garn,  as acknowledged Mondy by James Clarke  a freind of Ruettiger who was also present at the service.

Any one need players?

     Hi Luke who played for Princeton ward last year is looking for a team to play with, Princeton does not have a team this year.  Luke is a good guy and a very good player. We would grab him ourselves but Luke in not a member and we have 4 non members on our team already.

Week 1 SAMS LDS basketball schedule

Basketball schedule for  Thursday Jan. 19, 2017
    There was a  rule change   approved at the meeting...  if a regular season game goes to a second overtime, where it is sudden death,   it has been changed that you must score  at least 2  points to win. ( in the regular season  second overtime sudden death)  It seems unfair to have a close hard fought game  be decided by a questionable  call and  the  team has 2  or three  free throws  to make one  for the win,  Now  they have to make at least 2 free throws.

a  refresher... High school players,   meaning  10th, 11th,  12th  grade players weather they are  a-f  squads  are not eligible to play in our league (by state high school rules)  until that players varsity team  is eliminated form the  season ending tournament.  (9th  graders are eligible).  After their high school team is eliminated  only baptized members of that ward  are allowed to play,  and for teams with multiple high school players, only one on the court at a time.

Referee assignments
   YM  referee thier own games.
   When men only have two games scheduled  for a building
       Each team sends at least one  player to officiate  the other game.

If there are three men's games scheduled at a building
   The  teams  who  play the first game  each send  Two players to officiate the middle game
  The teams  who  play the middle game  send  at least 2  players to officiate the  first game  and the last game,     looking at the schedule  the team on the left sends two players come early and officiate the first game
  the team on the right  has  4 stay  to officiate the later game

2017 SAMS LDS men's and YM basketball meeting

Spread the word,   the 2017 Men's and young men's  basketball meeting it this Thursday  Jan 12, 2017  7:00 at the Anoka stake center.
     We will discuss  rules and how we plan to administer the games,  the first week's schedule will be made and any questions will be answered.
