Whistle Rap

Whistle Rap;
* Since we are playing running time, to save time, the high school rule when a player is shooting two or more free throws, and someone wants to substitute we wait until just before the last free throw to sub in. To save time if the players are at the table when the players are lining up for the first free throw, let the subs go in than saving time.

* Reminder to those not at the meeting, the stake Athletic directors and those delegated to substitute for them, have been empowered by the stake presidents to act on sportsmanship matters, they can tell a player to sit down and cool off or they can call a sportsmanship technical foul on a player or they can just eject a player. A referee can do the same. Now an athletic director cannot over rule the judgement of a referee, that if final, however a referee may ask the AD to interpret a rule.

* False doctrine: "The referee lost control of the game." It is not the Referee's job to maintain control, it is the player's responsibility! We are for the most part priesthood holders, LDS or friends there of, and it is our responsibility to act as such.

* Two technical fouls on a player in a game and that player is ejected from that game and the next. If it happens to to a player twice in a season that player is done for the year and maybe beyond.

* Three sportsmanship technicals on a team in a game, and the game is over, you lose, and it counts as a forfeit, Two forfeits on a team in a season and you are out of the tournament. If a team forfeits twice for sportsmanship reasons they are done and out of the league and tournament.

* Swinging of arms or elbows
(rule 9:13 Art 1) A player shall not excessively swing his/her arm(s) or elbow(s), even without contacting an opponent.
Results if no contact is a violation, like traveling or double dribbling, if there is contact to the point of an advantage being gained it is a foul. Egregious contact or with intent to injure is a flagrant double foul, player ejected that game and the next.

* When substituting during a multiple free throw situation it is proper to wait until just before the final throw to allow the substitutes to go in. Since we have running time, let's substitute before the first throw. Thus saving time.

Referee assignments

Referee assignments
If the men's team plays at:   8:00  You need to send one ref  at  6:00, 7:00, and  Two guys for 9:00.
                                          9:00   You need to send two guys for  the 8:00 and 10:00 games
                                          10:00 No referee assignments but you need to clean up the building

(If you play at 8:00  each ward only need send one player to referee the 6:00 and 7:00 games, we assume we can get  a parent or spectator to help with the clock and book.)  Please feel free to contact the  team you are playing at 8:00 and trade,  one send two referee's  for  the 6 and 7 games  and the other team can cover the 9:00 game, thus no one player has to be there 4 hours in a row,  but that is up to the teams. I hope to have a contact  list  soon.
