YM tournament updates

   This Thursday, April 7, 2016  is the final 4 and championship  games.
The semi finals are both at  6:00, SC/SV  at  St. Paul,  MGa/Chaska  at Mpls.
The winner of the  SC/SV (ym)  game travels  to Mpls (Crystal)  and plays the Winner of
MGa/Chaska (ym)  at  8:00 at Minneapolis (Crystal).

      The MGb/MLk (ym)  game  was intriguing,  MGb's  best player  was not going to show up  until half time,  thus they were left with a  whole team of deacons who fought valiantly and their  hope was to keep it  close until half time.   At the 10:00  mark it was 8-6,  But than  MLk    went on a 28-2  run to kind of seal it,  The Player  for some reason never showed up.  
    MGa/Mlk (ym)  game was close 33-32  with two minutes to go before half time. But  MGa  finished the half on a 6-0 run,  Mlk finally wore out   and the speed  length and  depth of MGa  won out.

  This is setting up  an interesting  rematch  of last years Semi-finalists  Chaska  has the size to keep up with MGa  making a very interesting match up.

PS   On a personal note,  if it seems like we have  been lacking our normal attention to the blog this year, it is because  Billy (st. Paul AD)   Just had a Baby  a couple weeks ago... congrats! Mpls is still working on calling an AD.  And I have had two funerals (including my father)  with travel and time consumption implications.  We will do better in the future.

Thanks again to everyone who volunteered to coach, and ref and officiate the games.  As far as I can tell the sportsmanship has been outstanding,  a few to many no show teams,  but the season has been fun.

Three more weeks  and it is tournament time for the men.

It has been asked, when the YM  season is done can their players join the men's teams?
YES,  Especially if that is the difference in having or not having a team,  But be  mindful of the men who have  played all year, I would consult with them  since adding players reduces  the men's players  playing minutes.
