Nicer pair of sneakers found at Anoka after the mens games. Rather unique.

Quick scheduling note: The boys tournament will be scheduled at the beginning of April.
We had originally hoped to have the boys tournament early this year, but a late start, cancellations and snow have hampered many games. Now with spring breaks extending across March, we will limp through the month so as to avoid eliminating teams solely because their spring break falls during the selected week.

- As last week wasn't played, we'll keep many of last week's match-ups.
- I haven't heard from Shingle Creek Men. I'm assuming they don't have a team. Please contact me if this is incorrect.

2019 Season Notes
The 2019 season is ready to kick off. Games will start on January 24th.
This season is going to be different in a few ways.
First:
We only have two basketball courts available to us this season.
This will restrict the number of games that can be played in general, and force games to be played in the northern suburbs. The season will likely include fewer games per team.
Second:
Mens teams will call their own fouls. There will be no refereeing responsibilities.
See referee assignment page for more details.
Teams will be asked to supply someone to help run the score table for their games.
As for the playoff , we will assess the officiating situation during the season and determine if and how referees will be used.
Young Mens games will follow the same model as last year. Games will be officiated by adults supplied ny the participating wards. Be they volunteers or the team coaches.
Third:
Due to the shorter season, we will consider a double elimination tournament for the playoff.
Below are the current teams we have currently enrolled in the league:

Happy New Year!!
Please spread the word that men’s/young men’s basketball games will starting soon.
There is an Organizational Meeting on Thursday JAN 17th, at 7:00pm at the Anoka Stake Center. Games will then start the following week. During the meeting, we will create the 1st week game schedule and discuss rules and administrative duties.
Just a heads up, we normally have three buildings for our events but due to circumstances beyond our control, the Minneapolis stake center will not be available for us this year, so our game schedule will depend on how many teams participate. We may have to move young men games to Saturday morning or cancel them all together and just hold a tournament toward the end of the league season. Either way we need your opinion on this.
Please contact us if you have any questions.

SAMS LDS 2018 men’s volleyball tourney
Welcome to the 2018 Sams LDS men’s volleyball tournament
All the games Thursday Nov. 29 are at the Anoka stake center
All the games Thursday Dec. 6 are at the St PAUL Stake center.
Matches are 2 out of three to 25 or first to 30. (Except game 17 if needed, which is one game to 25)
Rules are same as last year.
A team can play with as few as 2 players.
At least the same number of Baptised members must be on the court as non members.
You may use women, but it is still men’s volleyball.
Substitution:
1) Traditional , two players share a position.
2) Church substation, spare players sub out and come in after a rotation
3) Hybrid. (A player or several players can stay at their position and the other players substitute)
(This is made to help with participation where a team can keep their setter or better players on the court)
Good luck.
