       It was nice to be on the court again with the new nets and poles.
Great spirit of sportsmanship and competition.
    We are down to five teams.
The two   Undefeated  teams Maple Grove plays Elm Creek at 7:15
 Consolation bracket has Blaine playing ShoreView/ New Brighton at 6:30
TC2 (Hmong ward) waits for  the winner of SV/ NB vs Blaine.

SAMS LDS 2018 men’s volleyball tourney

Welcome to the 2018 Sams LDS  men’s volleyball tournament
 All the games Thursday Nov. 29 are at the Anoka stake center
  All the games Thursday Dec. 6 are at the St PAUL Stake center.
Matches are 2 out of three to 25 or first to 30.  (Except game 17 if needed, which is one game to 25)
Rules are same as last year.

 A team can play with as few as 2 players.
At least the same number of Baptised members must be on the court as non members.
 You may use women, but it is still men’s volleyball.
Substitution:
1) Traditional , two players share a position.

2) Church substation, spare players sub out and come in after a rotation


3) Hybrid. (A player or several players can stay at their position and the other players substitute)
(This is made to help with participation where a team can keep their setter or better players on the court)

Congrats to Plymouth Men's champions

Congrats to  the 2018  SAMS LDS  Men's Champions   Plymouth

    It  was a well played game,  Good sportsmanship  with Eden   taking a big  early lead  than  EP  pressed and  rallied  closing to with in 4  points.   At  the end  Plymouth hit their  free throws  and won  69-63.

Tournament Update  -  

Congratulations to Chaska for winning the YM Championship.

EP and Plymouth will play at Anoka for the championship this Thursday @ 7:30.
(The MPLS stake center is unavailable due to prep for a dance)

Eligibility Notes:

• Any baptized member of your ward can play regardless if they played during the season.
• Any non-members must have played for their team at least once during the regular season.
• Before each game before the prayer lets establish who are member and who are non members and high school players. 
• Remember only two non members per team on the court at a time.

Overtime Note:

• In the tournament there is no sudden death.  
• 2 minute overtime periods will continue until there is a winner. 
• The first  overtime period starts with a jump ball, and the alternating possession arrow is reset. 
• Additional overtime periods will have starting possession determined by the alternating possession arrow.

Season Postponed for Easter

A number of wards have notified us that they will have difficultly fielding a team due to Easter and General Conference plans.

In consideration of that, we will postpone games this week and pick up again on April 5th.
