     First we must apologize,  We had a mix up of communication  and the St. Paul building was not opened  on time, I have  not heard if any Futsal games were played at all.  Weather the   building wasn't open or people just didn't hear about it.
    I had a  death to my father in Law which  took me away from my regular sports duty for the week,  So  again We apologize for any inconvenience.

Congratulations Dana Oelkers 2017 SAMS LDS GOLF CHAMPION

.       Dana  Oelkers became the first 4 time winner of the SAMS LDS GOLF TOURNAMENT  Shooting a 4 over 76 that was also enough to on his own win the team competition for Shingle Creek.
    The weather was threatening as it rained 20. Minutes before the start. But it stopped and the weather was wonderful until a short drizzle at about the 17 th hole. But it stopped and we were able finish.
   Jared Moll from the Maple Grove ward won the "ABD" trophy (anyone but Dana) shooting an 81.
Fun was had by all.
     Net year we are tentively planning two tournaments one early in he year . This one will be a four man scramble  team competition probably at Hayden  Hills golf course, which is one of the easiest courses in the state. (They have a 195 yard par 4).  The scramble format means you play as a team everyone tees off and you decide which ball location is best for the second shot, then you alll shoot your second shot from that location. This format on on this golf course might produce  your best score ever. It also Isis. Fun for the beginner golfers.

Last minute update

i just talked to the Brook View people and their radar says the weather should be fine.
  We will compensate if the tournament is stopped by rain, we will determine the winners by who has the best score compared to par at which ever hole they had to stop. But for now they are letting the carts out and we should be able to finish.

Golf tournament update/ volleyball/ futsal schedule week one

Golf:
      Looking at accuweather which, since I am a painter I relay on a lot forecasts thunderstorms later in the afternoon or evening, however the chance of rain is only 35 percent until 6 pm  and goes to 50 percent from there.
  With that in mind let's continue the tournament starting at 2:00 at Brookview, $21 to walk, $31.50 to ride, and we may have to shorten the tournament to 9 holes. Or we will play 9 holes and reevaluate from there.
     We will see you then.

Golf update

I see the forecast is iffy for the tournament tomorrow, let's try to play, I,work the temple. Next week  and who knows what happens in the future.

SAMS LDS 2017 Sports update

Hi all,  The Volleyball/ futsal meeting is This Thursday. 7:00 at the Anoka stake center on the stage.
     I am excited for the golf tournament which is Saturday 2:00 at Brook View golf course
200 Brookview Pkwy. Golden Valley
Team and individual competition with valuable prizes.
